Monitor was the first company in Australia to perfect the development of the Print Station concept and implement this system where students are able to view their print jobs prior to paying for one or multiple jobs. Monitor has expanded this type of printing to capture NT, Novell and MAC printing.

We have developed interfaces to other Software packages to offer the most cost effective solution to our customers. These recommended examples are described below.

Print Release Stations
When a job is sent the print software pauses the job until paid for and released at a Student Print Release Station (a networked PC dedicated for the purpose of displaying held print jobs). To release the job the student must present their Monitor card to the terminal, the job can then be highlighted, selected and paid for using the Monitor card.
The job is then released and printed. The system is simple to use, robust and integrates directly with the Monitor Supervisor NET software, to enable consolidated copy/print reports for all user groups.

Print Pop-Up
When a job is sent from a workstation PC, a print Pop-Up will be initiated and displayed to the user, detailing the associated job attributes, cost to print and account balance held in the Monitor online database.
To proceed, the "Print OK" button is selected and the job is sent to the selected printer and the online card-account is deducted. Identification of the user is done via their network login, which is associated with their Monitor card account. This eliminates the need for the card to be used, or for card reader hardware to be provided at each workstation where print jobs are generated.
